
- Acemoglu and Robinson write two short articles on South Africa titled “South Africa: the Fear of Collapse” and “South Africa: The Fear of Oligarchy” – both of which are written with enough “outsider” perspective to shock me into realizing that the transition in 1994 was probably too heavily weighted in the “bury the hatchet” direction and not enough in the “make right the wrongs of the past”. Very thought provoking.
